五軸cnc加工這里是指在一臺機床上至少有五個坐標軸(三個直線坐標和兩個旋轉坐標),而且可在計算機數控(CNC)系統的控制下同時協調運動進行加工。這樣的五軸聯動數控加工與一般的三軸聯動數控加工相比,主要有以下優點:
一、五軸cnc加工可以一般三軸所不能加工或很難一次裝夾完成加工的連續、平滑的自由曲面。如航空發動機和汽輪機的葉片,艦艇用的螺旋推進器,以及許許多多具有特殊曲面和復雜型腔、孔位的殼體和模具等,如用普通三軸數控,由于其刀具相對于工件的位姿角在加工過程中不能變,加工某些復雜自由曲面時,就有可能產生干涉或欠加工(即加工不到)。而用五軸聯動的機床加工時,則由于刀具/工件的位姿角在加工過程中隨時可調整,就可以避免刀具工件的干涉并能一次裝夾完成全部加工;
